US intends no military offensive against Pakistan: Munter

MANSEHRA/ISLAMABAD: The US ambassador in Pakistan Cameron Munter has said US has no intention to conduct any military offensive against Pakistan.
“US has no intention to carry out any military strike against Pakistan. Afghanistan and Pakistan should remove this misperception about US on this count. We want to see both the countries as developed countries. Contacts between Pakistan and US don’t prevail only at political level but also at people to people level. We will further beef up them and make them grow stronger”, he said this while talking to media men after addressing the inauguration ceremony of high schools buildings of boys and girls in the area of Khawari here under US aid Tuesday.
Quake-2005 gave rise to several problems in Pakistan and it is our endeavour that reconstruction work should continue in quake hit areas, he underlined. US secretary of state had said during her visit to Pakistan that people of Pakistan had to make their future by themselves. US would cooperate Pakistan in this struggle, he added. “We will make flourish the sapling of reconstruction which has been planted in flood affected areas with the cooperation of people of US , he remarked.
Chief of Staff ERRA, Brig Wajid Ali said ERRA has mobilized all resources for restoration of health and education sectors. The facilities of health and education had been reduced to nullity in the quake-hit areas, he added. US Aid in collaboration with ERRA and CBM has started reconstruction work of schools and hospitals in quake ravaged areas, he stated. 21 projects of rebuilding of schools and hospitals in the areas of Mansehra and Bagh have been completed in collaboration with US aid, he pointed out. 11 projects were under-construction, he added.
